Hi folks,
I have been out of the Warhammer and 40k world for a few years now but last week I found out they had completely changed the fantasy game to the Age of Sigmar.
I really like the stream-lined play and think it is the kind of game I would enjoy, so with that in mind I was inspired to dig out my old fantasy army and start updating it for a fresh start in the new incarnation of the game.
My ogres have featured on this blog a few times, it was the first army I ever painted in its entirety but a few years ago i got it into my head that it was time for a change and I striped all my core units.
Big mistake. I lost my focus on the project and my army sat languishing in their case in various states of paint and repair for several years, un-played and unloved.
Here is my test mini, it is still far from complete as the face needs finishing and the spikes on his iron fist need changing over to an iron colour rather than the gold base they have at the moment. But it is roughly where I want to be with it.
Unfortunately the mini was a bit rough around the edges from being stripped and repainted a couple of times(Ogre Stew) so I will have to pay a bit more attention before painting the rest in tidying them up before priming.
I have a couple of commissions in the works and will get some pictures up once they are finished and back with their respective owners.
In other news, Warhammer World announced they are bringing Blood Bowl home! The XXXXXX League Cup looks like it will be a blast! unfortunately I sold my last team (Humans Team) and it looks like I will have to miss out on the fun unless i can grab a team in the mean time. Damn!
I am off to mope for a bit now, stay frosty.

My little corner of the web, dedicated to my hobby and ramblings. I play most Games Workshop games including their specialist range and have recently started playing RPG';s. I am always looking to improve and take my painting up a notch and any C&C are welcome :)

Champions of Death
One Blood Bowl team finished and on it's way home.
These guys were a real treat to paint and I think they look pretty good (if I do say so myself!).
Now that I have finished the Champions of Death I can really crack on with the Necromantic team. I finished the second flesh golem and have made a start on a few more minis too.
Base coated and inked the armour of these guys, the cloth will be green and the ornamentation will be done in gold. Still early stages but will come together soon enough.
THese Ghouls are again base coated and will be done in the same colours as the rest of the team but with a greyish highlight to the flesh , similar to the ghouls in the other team.
These guys have not been started in earnest just yet but since they are cool minis, I had to get a pic of them up! looking forward to getting some paint down on them!
Have pretty much finished college now and have a couple of months free to get on with my hobby stuff, so fingers crossed i will get some work done at a reasonable pace now.
I have also been looking back at my Imperial Guard and will likely get back on track with those guys soon, it has been a while and there are still plenty of minis that need finishing (well it is an all infantry army, durrr!). Will get some pictures up as soon as i can and I may even set up a website for my hobby and painting stuff if i feel it will get any traffic, the hardest part is coming up with a name! and on the subject of names, my guard still remain without one set in stone. I was thinking of Cadian 249th "The Ice Raptors" or something of that ilk; what do you guys think? any suggestions?
Until next time,

Eldar update and random stuff
Been a while!
College and the holidays have both conspired against my blogging and hobbying, but i have finally found some time to do this post and even some painting!
I have some very rough pictures of what i have been doing in-between essays, assignments and being a dad. One day I will remember to look into setting up a light box or a photo spot in my little painting dungeon, any advice welcome!
First up some updated pics of the Eldar I have been working on:
Banshees need a little finishing and basing, then they are ready to go.
Warp Spiders, again, need a little bit of finishing (I messed up the symbol on a couple of their heads, that's why some look odd as they have only have a thin coat to cover the mistakes so far) and basing.
Dark Reapers are waiting for basing and their weapons.
Was also sent a Wraithlord to paint up in the Iyanden* scheme:
Am still getting used to my airbrush, but love how nice the yellow came out! still a lot of work to do, extra armour and details still need painting blue, but so far so good!
Have been playing Pathfinder RPG quite a lot too recently and have to say, the more I play the more I love the system!
I freely admit that I was always dubious of those strange creatures that played RPGs and never imagined I would one day be one of them! as if painting and playing toy soldiers wasn't geeky enough! lol.
It has really helped that my first forays into playing RPGs were with two VERY experienced and fun GMs and both groups I played with were amazing! however I did meet a group that included the stereotypical gaming pair (like these guys Fear of Girls) and ran for the hills.
Anyway, enough rambling about it, I have painted a few characters up for my ongoing weekly session of Pathfinder but typically I don't have them with me. A couple were painted for the GM and his wife and the latest (Eando Kline) has come out really dark and grainy in the picture :( Again, I really need to sort out a light box or something!
Here are the pics anyway:
Finally, one of the best purchases I have ever made is the Pound-o-dice by Chessex. I got it from http://www.snmstuff.co.uk/ and oh biy was it worth it!
I got:
13 - d4
8 - numbered d6
14 - Standard size spot d6 - 1 with a dire wolf instead of a 6
1 - Large d6
5 - Small d6
8 - d8
22 - d10
3 - d%
8 - d12
30 - d20
Complete set of limited edition dice green numbers on cream with orange specks
3 Micro 5mm dice
and 2 craft/charm dice with holes through them to thread.
Not bad at all! and for all you war gamers, they do a pound-o-d6 too :)
Hopefully the next update won't be too far away, will do my best.
Stay frosty people,

Getting there...
Hi folks,
Just finished off The Mighty Zug, who will be off to join the rest of his team shortly. I had a lot of fun painting him up, although I do want to get a new Blood Bowl team now!
Still Have more Eldar to finish, which I hope to get done over the next couple of weeks as my desk is pretty swamped at the moment!
On the Imperial Guard front, I swapped some space marines for some glory boys and a commissar. The Kasrkins need to be stripped and tidied up a little before i do anything with them.
The commissar was ready to start work on straight away, I have done the face, red trim/lining and gem on his belt so far. Still a lot more work to go but I'm happy with him so far.
And finally, I just wanted to put up pictures of an up and coming gamer and painter;
My Son's first ever painted mini's :o)
I know I am biased but for the first ever attempts of a 5 year old, I think they are great! and now that my daughter has seen his efforts she now wants a go too :oD
Next post, I hope to have another unit of Eldar finished and maybe a little bit of guard.
Stay frosty people.

Next up, I finished the Eldar Farseer and Warlocks. I haven't done much freehand work before, but I am pretty happy with how these have turned out. These will be flying back to Germany tomorrow.
