Slowly Slowly

Well, not quite the progress i was hoping for but i got one and a half models weapons done ;o)







Not perfect (not even good!) NMM but i like the industrial, dirty and used look it has. May go back and add further highlights at the end of painting her but looks ok for now.

Will try and get some more done tonight, want to do at least 3 more including the half done ganger.

Didn't get much of anything done last night, got caught up watching CSI while i ate my dinner and then TOPGEAR was on!


















Veyron vs Mclaren F1 - 3million quid of car in a drag race!!! much dribbling was involved!

Back on subject, I'm hoping to get the weapons done by tonight and crack on and finish the ladies this week as i am longing to get back to my guard army.

Skin Tones done

Just finished the skin tones on the ladies.
I want the skin tones to vary slightly in the gang as people are not all the same colour! so 2 were done using VGC Pale Flesh, 2 with VGC Elf Flesh and the last 3 with Reaper's Pro-Paint Caucasian.

Next up is the weapons and then on to the fiddly little bits and bases, fun fun.

Up Early with the kids today so had a look through my photobucket and found this fella i painted for an aborted ork army.

Looking back, he is a little rough in some places but overall i think he looks pretty good considering he is the first 40k ork i ever painted.

Anyway, back to the present and i'd better get on.

7 to go!

Ok,

So after finishing the leader earlier today, i have been working a production line on the remaining 7 gangers.

1. I painted the bases black - i had added some resin metal plates, grilles and assorted junk along with fine sand on the rest of the base to give them a suitably industrial look when painted up later.
2. Painted the blue cloth and plates - the areas were already based in VGC magic blue, on top of which went VGC Electric Blue and VMC Sky Blue. Will need final highlights later on, but this makes life a little easier as i can cover any accidents while doing the smaller fiddly bits a hell of a lot easier.
3. Washed the skin - Skin was all based in Tallern Flesh GW foundation which i have washed with the citadel washes. I wanted to try a few variations to see the effect on the skin tones when finished so used Leviathan Purple, Badab Black, Gryphonne Sepia and Devlan Mud in various mixes.
   

Tomorrow and maybe for a little while tonight, i will try and get on with painting the skin.
Flesh tones i find a real joy to paint, which is a little weird since so many people i see on forums and who i know personally seem to really hate doing them! Maybe I'm just weird but does anyone else out there like paint the flesh more than the rest of the model? Maybe i should find someone who only likes painting the rest and form a killer tag team ;)

Anyway... that's it for now, ill stick a blurry picture up of the 7 remaining ladies shortly. It will be blurry as i have lost my pop-up light box and the lighting in my house is PANTS, but blogs are a bit tedious with nothing to break the text so will have to do for now. will take a clearer pic on the morrow, ooh arr ooh arr ooh arr.

Leader is finished, kinda...

as ever, i finish behind schedule but at last the Leader is finished. May go back and re-do the hair but for now i am happy with her.

And so it begins....

I have set up this blog to document my attempts at painting and modelling to the tune of games workshop games.

I am a very average painter, but endeavor to get myself up to being a Good painter. I have no delusions of getting a golden daemon or winning awards, i would just like to produce some nice pieces and who know maybe even play a game one day!

I have tried in the past to blog on various forums including Work_in_progress, Heresy Online, Talkbloodbowl to name a few. The idea is that this will be my central place to post my latest progress, rants, queries and questions.

If you see anything i do that you like, please let me know ill be happy to go into more detail. On the other side of the coin, if you see anything i could be doing to improve what i am doing, please feel more than welcome to tell me so (constructive please, i know i suck and don't need any extra reminders of that! lol).

Rather than post a tonne of back dated stuff on here, i am just going to link to my most recent threads on Heresy Online, as they cover the more upto date stuff that i have done. If i come across any old pics of previous work and figs they may get posted but as my system and photobucket are so messy it may be a little while!

So here are my most recent projects:

My Blood Bowl Team - Complete, will take new pics and put in a gallery at a later date.
Ogre Kingdoms - 90% complete, not great pics but i will do what i can to remedy that.
Imperial Guard - My long standing WIP, i started these years before they were re-released and will be back working on these very soon i hope!
My Wife's Necromunada Gang - another long running WIP but nearing completion. These are my current victims and i WILL finish these before moving on, unless i get bored or do something else ;)

I also have a WIP space marine company sat in my cases that have never been posted anywhere, but that may change if i get the time.
