Primed and ready

I Managed to get enough tracks for another 10 tracked heavies so I will go ahead with more of these after i paint this one and the next squad.

Magnetised and primed ready to start painting ;o)

have made up a chap to walk along side and give it a swift kick to get it going again when the machine spirit plays up.

Prototype

Here is what i am thinking of doing for my heavies:

Crazy flaming head guy is for scale, plus he looks damn cool! ;oD

will magnetize the weapons so they can be swapped out, but the big problem i will have is getting tracks for them as Bitzbox and BitsandKits have been out of stock for yonks :o(

What do you guys think? shall i do these for all my heavy teams or should i just use normal set using cities of death bits for cover and etc... ?

Apoc

First squad finished! woohoo!

Finally finished the 1st squad!

woo and indeed hoo!

although looking at the pics as i put them on here, i realise i forgot one chap's face but that will take seconds to resolve once i finish here.

Will try to take a better picture tomorrow when there is better light, but i am pretty happy with them ;o)

I am still trying to decide on whether or not to make or but my own bases but since my hobby fund is dry, i imaging i will make my own up. It would help if i could make up my mind on WHAT i actually want on the bases too i suppose ;o)

May go city fight or even just plain sand.

Next up is my 1st heavy weapon team which is a nice break from the squaddies. I don't have any pics at the moment but will dig out what i had been working on and take the snaps shortly.

Cheers for stopping by,

Mostly Armless ;o)

Making some good progress, I have 6 finished now and the next 4 just need their arms finishing up.

2 of the squad were recovered from my last abortive attempt at Imperial Guard. Trooper Santos and the plasma gunner have now joined the ranks ;o)

Not sure how i will paint the vox pack, but i am really happy with how it turned out \(Will take a better picture tonight), its not as bulky as the original and disguises the awful antenna the come with originally.
Photobucket

All comments and criticism appreciated, will be getting the few finished today and will do a heavy weapon squad as a treat to myself next ;o) which i think will be a good template to follow and keep the momentum going.

Paint a squad - convert and paint a heavy team.

I am looking forward to the heavies as i have a couple of ideas and a prototype i want to run by you all for c&c but i am resisting doing anything or posting now so that i actually finish off the rest of the squad first!

Back off to the paint dungeon i go!

Stay frosty people...

4 more down

Well, long time coming but have just finished (bar the arms) another four troops for the 1st squad.

Will be finishing a Special weapon trooper and a couple more grunts today and maybe even all the arms to bring the quad to 10 at last! and as a break i may convert up a heavy weapons team, for which i am thinking of doing something like a tarantula style or a mobile remote unit, if that makes sense? I just want something different to "gun leant on city of death wall or rubble"
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
If you see any good conversions for guard heavy weapon teams please forward it on to me ;o)

Im off to get my paint on! ;o)

Twit

Ok, I finally gave in and am now on twitter too.

Will just be the odd pic and update from here and maybe a few bits and pieces as i am out and about in stores and clubs (if i ever find any! lol)

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Having been away for a couple of weeks due do a holiday and the dreaded MAN-FLU!! i have started to get back on with these chaps.

I got the production line all done to the point i just need to finish the last highlights on the armour and do the black and metal parts to complete (except for the arms), so with a little luck i should have the rest finished shortly.

On the plus side to being ill, i managed to read all 5 Temeraire books and really enjoyed the lot! can go a bit off the pot and slow sometimes, but is usually made up for later on.

One weird thing reading these, was while at my worst, i had a fever dream in which i could only dream about a small section of ship rigging all night! I woke up screaming in frustration a couple of times as i could not dream or think of anything else! lol. bloomin' nelson and napolean should have had the decency to invet tanks and planes if you ask me!

Pics tomorrow

hi folks, been a while since my last post, but i will have some stuff up for you tomorrow.

Been working on 15 bodies and legs in one go, but in the future it will only be 5 at a time so i can do some blogging with progress to show!

will pick what heads i want for them and paint them and the camo tomorrow.

I like painting heads and faces, so should be done pretty quickly, then i just have arms and gear to go on the belts, which wont take long to do at all.

Have been thinking about what i can do for any vehicles i may add, in terms of fitting them to my scheme. I found this Valkyrie (i plan to have a few of these eventually)

Looks fairly straight forward and will tie in nicely i think, although my pin up will be from a weird book i read a month or so ago "Island of the sequined love nun" by Christopher Moore - Not the best book i have read of his (A dirty job) but i like to work book references into my armies ;o)

Have Been Reading LOADS lately, I bought myself the Sony Reader and think i love it as much as my ipod if not more!

In the Last Month I have Read:

All the Dexter books (except the latest which is due in ebook soon) - The killer in the second book is COOOOOOL and what he does to people is gruesome to the extreme! i can't think of anything worse than what he does to his victims! - well worth picking up the trilogy book just for that!

All the Soul Drinkers books - Not bad, kind of loses its point and direction a few times through out, is a bit obvious in places and not going to set the world on fire for originality... ...but, i like them! they are like old ARNIE films, you know he cant act too great and is given corny one liners as if the writers don't trust him to manage a whole paragraph of text! but it just works! it's no brainer fun with a big gun!

A couple of zombie books that were awful, Dead Sea -Brian Keane and Dead City - Joe McKinney. Really wish i hadn't!

Bret Hart's autobiography - which i was suprised with how much i liked it, well worth a read.

And finally i am 3/4 of the way through His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik.
WOW! havn't been able to put it down! Set in Nepolionic times, but with Dragons! well written and easy to follow even though navel battles never really had any appeal to me, and fantasy not being my first choice of genres, it is written in a way that makes them enjoyable and engrossing.

Oh, gone off on a book club rant but never mind ;o) ill do some painting and get some pics up tomorrow to make up for my rambling, i promise!

Until then readers, Eat drink and be Merry!

All quiet on the Apoca6 front

Have been getting on with my guard (honest!), have 15 legs and bodies together now and all have the blue finished on them. Will take some pictures in a little bit, once i have started the greys.

My hobby fund is in a big time minus at the moment, so i have stuck my marine army on DakkaDakka, Heresy Online, and Warseer to see if i can get some more models or cash.

Not sure what it is about marines, but whenever i get one i paint it and sell it! this is about the 8th big marine army i have had now.

Painted to a pretty solid TT level, there is 3270 points of WYSIWYG and that is before adding options to the vehicles.

Pics are a bit dark and grainy, but get the point across i think
